Worldwide Development Corporation - 50 years remaining until we live on a dead planet without any carbon resources

Sustainability is the key to long term survival of any eco system
Before we can discuss the solution and benefits to powering the planet without fossil fuels we must establish there is a problem.  The following is a example of the oil discoveries and the impact it will have on our future energy needs.

Potential oil discoveries in relationship to oil demand of 31 billion barrels per year:
1. Australia 300 billion bbls - 9 year demand
2. North Dakota 7.5 billion bbls - 3 month demand
3. Gulf of Mexico 48 billion bbls - 1 1/2 year demand

It doesn't make any difference how much oil we find, we can't drill our way out of this problem.

Man-kind has continued to survive and advance for thousands of years on this planet.  One hundred fifty years ago we discovered oil, which has allowed man-kind to create a modern society.  Our generation is living like were the last generation to survive on this planet.  It's almost like were on a quest to destroy man-kind and this planet we live on.

According to the world experts there are 50 years of oil remaining at the current consumption rate.  If were lucky we might get another 20 or 30 years out of new discoveries and better recovery methods.

You do the math.

There are 7.3 billion people living on this planet and soon to be 8 billion people.  What happens when we run out of fossil fuels?  We are setting ourselves up for an apocalypse that will destroy everybody and everything.  Anybody think this will be a peaceful ending to mass starvation, etc. is kidding themselves.  This is a violent world and people won't go quietly into the night.  I'm surprised more hasn't happened already.  I guess it will begin when we start to allocate oil in the next 20 or 30 years.

Can you even imagine what this world would be like with no fossil fuels and 8 or 9 billion people.  There would be no transportation, clean water would disappear, sanitation services would fail and finally we would all be fighting over scraps in a very short time-frame which I believe would eventually lead to nuclear war.
